Now that cinemas in Malaysia are allowed to resume operations starting from this 1 July, film exhibitors and distributors are gearing up with fun and interesting titles to welcome back moviegoers. Check out below the upcoming new releases, as well as reruns of previously-released movies, that are screening in local cinemas from this Wednesday!

NEW RELEASES

Low Season

Ploypailin Thangprapaporn stars in this Thai romcom as Lin, a girl who can see ghosts, while Mario Maurer stars opposite her as Pud, a budding scriptwriter who loves writing ghost stories.

Train to Busan (Extended Version)

An extended cut of Yeon Sang-Ho's 2016 zombie horror hit, which will reportedly include scenes with clues to its upcoming follow-up "Peninsula".

Kaiji: Final Game

This final instalment in Tōya Satō's "Kaiji" trilogy sees Tatsuya Fujiwara returning as the titular character, who this time takes a risk playing games that include life-and-death situations.

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna

Set five years after "Digimon Adventure tri", Taichi and his friends' world are turned upside down when they learn a shocking truth about their Digimon.

The Bridge Curse

This Taiwanese horror film is based on an urban legend about a haunted bridge at Taichung`s Tunghai University and follows a group of students who discover that the evil there might be real after all.

Howling Village

A Japanese horror movie that follows a psychiatrist with a sixth sense, Kanae, who tries to solve the mystery of a haunted village.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising

While temporarily assigned for hero work on an island, Deku, Bakugo and the other students of U.A. Academy Class 1-A must keep it safe from a group of villains.

In this "Trolls" sequel, Poppy and Branch discover other Troll worlds beyond their own and must unite them all to defeat a mysterious threat.

Onward

Brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot try to bring their late father back to life using magic but when only his bottom half appeared, they will need to find a solution to fix him fast.

Walk With Me

This Ryon Lee-directed movie follows a young woman who turns to a strange doll for help dealing with the problems in her life and now she fears that the doll might be responsible for her bullies' death.

The Invisible Man

Elisabeth Moss stars as Cecilia, who struggles to prove to her loved ones that her abusive ex-boyfriend has found a way to become invisible and continues tormenting her.

Walter

This Tamil action crime thriller sees Sibiraj starring as the titular policeman who is investigating a child trafficking case in his small town.

Pee Nak 2

First and Balloon secretly leave monkhood after fulfilling their pledges but now a new ghost is haunting them, forcing them to return to the temple for protection.

Jodoh Syaitan

Megat returns to his village to get married, while his friends there are helping Tok Chai to look for a dead body, which the older man wants to bring back to life as his own wife.

Fantasy Island

Venom

Starring Tom Hardy as journalist Eddie Brock who becomes the unwitting host of an alien symbiote called Venom.
